Culpeper's Orchard was a Danish rock band, formed in 1969 by Cy Nicklin, vocals and guitar, Nils Henriksen, guitar, piano, choir, Michael Friis, bass, organ, and Rodger Barker drums. Having achieved great success as a live band debuted on the LP in 1971. The record, whose title is merely synonymous with the band's name, presents a mixture of progressive psychedelic rock, folk and country where the vocal harmonies during the quiet songs reminiscent of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Already in the next release Second Sight in 1972, Barker was replaced with the eternally seeking Gudman Ken on drums, without significantly changing soundscape. Satisfied Mind is possibly a fairly traditional country tune, but i! t was an unusually popular sing-along number, including on the first Roskilde festivals. A few months after they released their third album, Going for a Song, where Niels Vangkilde, guitar, Niels Tuxen, steel guitar and Tom McEwan, drums had been replaced Henriksen and Gudman. In 1976 they changed their name to Culpeper and toured extensively, but released only one LP under that name. In retrospect, was a band that a few years, recruited names like Nils Henriksen, Niels Vangkilde, Thomas Puggard-Müller ...
